Position: Fiona was CCSP Workshop Planning and Support Coordinator/Decision Support Product Management and Development

Responsibilities: Fiona Horsfall served as CCSP Workshop Planning and Support Coordinator from May 2005 to July 2006. She was seconded to the position from the Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service, Climate Services Division. During 2005, Horsfall’s primary responsibility was planning and organizing the CCSP Workshop: Climate Science in Support of Decision Making. This included developing workshop agendas and other promotional materials; soliciting and reviewing contributed presentations; working with synthesis and assessment product leads and other speakers to prepare background papers and presentations; and preparing summary workshop proceedings. Following the workshop, Horsfall’s responsibilities shifted to decision support product management and development. Horsfall supported interagency oversight and review processes, ensuring a feedback link between decision support and research planning. Specific responsibilities included prospectus development, including contributing to and commenting on draft prospectuses; technical advice on stakeholder identification and interaction; senior technical advise on drafting issues; technical review on drafts, with special attention to linkages with other products; and supporting compliance with agency interpretation of the Information Quality Act and the OMB Peer Review Bulletin [PDF].
