Synthesis and Assessment Product 1.1: Public Comment Period: Dear Colleague, You are invited to provide comments on the Second Draft of CCSP Synthesis and Assessment Product 1.1, “ Temperature trends in the lower atmosphere – steps for understanding and reconciling differences”. This report is the first of 21 synthesis and assessment products that will be prepared by the Climate Change Science Program (CCSP). This draft has been prepared in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Final Product 1.1 Prospectus that was posted on this site on February 2, 2005. These procedures included a peer review of the report’s first draft by the National Research Council (NRC). The peer review report was issued on May 3, 2005, and the current draft was prepared with the benefit of review comments. Comments received during the current 45-day public comment period [review period closed] will be taken into consideration by the Lead Authors in the preparation of a third draft, as required by the Guidelines for Producing CCSP Synthesis and Assessment Products available at www.climatescience.gov. Once the revisions are complete, the third draft of the Synthesis and Assessment Product will be submitted to the CCSP Interagency Committee for approval.
